Clinical Supervision in Melbourne

Individual supervision for social workers, counsellors and mental health practitioners

I provide individual clinical supervision for social workers, counsellors and other mental health practitioners seeking a supportive and reflective space to develop their practice, explore clinical work and strengthen their professional confidence.

Clinical Supervision That Supports Your Practice

Clinical supervision provides a dedicated space to reflect on your clinical work, explore challenges, develop skills and consider your professional practice from different perspectives.

My approach to supervision is collaborative, reflective and practical. Sessions can provide space to discuss complex clinical presentations, therapeutic approaches, professional boundaries, ethical considerations, practitioner wellbeing and other issues arising in your work.

Supervision is tailored to your level of experience, professional role and individual goals. Whether you are developing confidence earlier in your career or are an experienced practitioner looking for an ongoing reflective space, we can shape supervision around what is most useful to you.

Who I Provide Supervision To

I provide clinical supervision to practitioners at different stages of their careers, including those seeking regular ongoing supervision as well as practitioners wanting support with particular areas of their clinical work.

Supervision is available to:

  • Social workers

  • Counsellors

  • Mental health practitioners

  • Early-career practitioners

  • Experienced clinicians seeking ongoing reflective supervision

Sessions can be tailored to your professional role, experience, practice setting and individual supervision goals.

What Can We Explore in Supervision?

Supervision can provide space to think through both clinical work and the broader challenges of working as a mental health practitioner. The focus of each session will depend on what is most useful to you.

  • Complex or challenging clinical presentations

  • Case formulation and treatment planning

  • Therapeutic approaches and interventions

  • Trauma-informed practice and EMDR

  • Professional boundaries and ethical dilemmas

  • Risk assessment and clinical decision-making

  • Working with neurodivergent clients

  • Managing therapeutic relationships and challenging dynamics

  • Practitioner wellbeing, burnout and sustainability

  • Building confidence and developing your professional identity

  • Reflecting on your own responses within the therapeutic relationship

  • Navigating private practice and different mental health settings

Supervision is not limited to these areas. Sessions are guided by your current work, professional development goals and the issues you would like to explore.

My Approach to Clinical Supervision

My approach to supervision is collaborative, reflective and practical. I aim to create a space where supervisees can speak openly about their clinical work, including situations where they may feel uncertain, challenged or stuck.

I see supervision as more than simply reviewing cases. It can provide an opportunity to develop clinical thinking, strengthen therapeutic skills, reflect on professional identity and consider how our own experiences and responses may influence our work with clients.

Depending on your needs, supervision may involve case discussion, formulation, exploring therapeutic interventions, reflecting on the therapeutic relationship, considering ethical or professional issues, or developing practical strategies for your work.

My supervision approach draws on my experience across mental health, counselling, trauma and private practice, as well as my formal training in individual and group supervision.

Supervision Training & Credentials

I have completed formal training in individual and group clinical supervision through The Bouverie Centre and am registered with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) College of Supervisors.

My broader professional background includes over 15 years of experience across mental health, counselling, hospital, crisis, trauma and private practice settings.

  • Accredited Mental Health Social Worker — AASW

  • Registered Counsellor — ACA

  • Registered Clinical Supervisor — ACA College of Supervisors

  • Formal training in individual and group supervision — The Bouverie Centre
